Barack Obama is a VERY intelligent man -- I'm going to trust him for now.
He has chosen to take on what is arguably the world's most challenging project since the the Marshall Plan, cleaning up after lil boots. There are only a handful of people who are even willing to try, and a very tiny subset of that group are actually up to the task. I think we have one of those.

I may not like all his cabinet choices; his politics and religion are not perfectly aligned with mine, but right now he's the smartest guy in the room.

Let's see what things look like in a few months; today I'm going to step aside and let the guy work.

2. You got it MindPilot
No one can be everything to everyone. I take him as he is. In a few years I will be able to tell all if I like him or not. I voted for him because I like and trust him.

10. Perhaps, but his "pastor" is not in charge of the country.
I don't mean to be snarky, but I sometimes have trouble with folks equating the extermination of more than 6 million innocent people with the justifiable outrage of millions of innocent people over a silly 2 minute prayer given by a doofus.

17. If his pastor had his way, we'd both end up in the same camp.
I'm not worried.

5. it's not as if questioning him or providing feedback is going to hurt him somehow
. . . our responsibility to our democracy doesn't end with our participation at the ballot box.

13. thank heaven for intellect
I agree heartily, MP. Of course we were all hoping for more progressive appointments, but imagine how un-frigging-believably awful things would be today had Mr. 100 Years Of War and his moronic Wolf-killing fascist pin-up girl been a month away from the White House. And if the disturbingly large segment of greedheads, environmental rapists and worshipers of Republican Jesus in Red Amerika had been successful in their efforts...OY! A terrible thing to consider. We have, thankfully, an intelligent man with a progressive background who will be kicking the Chimpanzee-in-Chief back to Texas in short order. Mr. Obama's task is monumental and I believe all Americans worthy of the name should support him in his endeavors. Times are very hard, folks...Great Depression hard. The economy is wrecked and the ecology of this beautiful, abused little planet of ours is a goddamn basket case. It is imperative that we give our man a chance. Do we have ANY other options????

19. Good post.
My sentiments exactly. Like any employer, we hired him on his experiences, our impressions, hopes, and the changes he promised. All this bickering before he's had one day on the job. Maybe that's why job reviews happen after someone's had a period of time doing the job??? :sarcasm:
