In June 2008 a "New York Times" article claimed citing unnamed CIA officers that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was held in a secret facility in Poland near Szymany Airport, about 100 miles north of Warsaw and it was there where the he was interrogated and the waterboarding was applied. It is claimed that waterboarding was used about 100 times over a period of two weeks before Khalid Sheikh Mohammed began to cooperate.

Report that interrogators abused his children

Letter from Ali Khan, Majid Khan's fatherAli Khan, the father of Majid Khan, another one of the fourteen "high-value detainees", released an affidavit on Monday April 16, 2006, that reported that interrogators subjected Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's children, aged six and eight years old, to abusive interrogation. Guantanamo detainee's father says son tortured in secret CIA prison

The father of a Guantanamo Bay detainee accused CIA officials of torturing his son - Pakistani terror suspect Majid Khan - after arresting him in Pakistan in March 2003, according to an affidavit released Monday. Khan was one of 14 "high value" prisoners {DNI profiles, PDF} previously held at a CIA secret prison {JURIST report} but transferred last year to the US military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba {JURIST news archive}.

Khan's father submitted the affidavit to a military review panel that will determine whether Khan is an "enemy combatant" {JURIST report}. In the affidavit, the father wrote that "The Americans tortured him for eight hours at a time, tying him tightly in stressful positions in a chair until his hands, feet and mind went numb." The CIA has denied the accusations and reiterated that the US does not torture suspects.

We have your sons: CIA

March 10 2003

Two young sons of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the September 11 attacks, are being used by the CIA to force their father to talk.

Yousef al-Khalid, 9, and his brother, Abed al-Khalid, 7, were taken into custody in Pakistan in September when intelligence officers raided a flat in Karachi where their father had been hiding.

Mohammed fled just hours before the raid but his sons and another senior al-Qaeda member were found cowering behind a wardrobe in the apartment.

The boys have been held by the Pakistani authorities but this weekend they were flown to America where they will be questioned about their father. CIA interrogators confirmed that the boys were staying at a secret address where they were being encouraged to talk about their father's activities. "We are handling them with kid gloves," said one official. "After all, they are only little children, but we need to know as much about their father's recent activities as possible. We have child psychologists on hand at all times and they are given the best of care."

3. Their thinking
If a bomb was to go off in a large American city within an hour, wouldn't it make sense to cut off the hand of his son and rape his young daughter to save Americans? The natural progression of their thinking.

Me? Put me in the cell next to Olaf:

i sing of Olaf glad and big
by E. E. Cummings

XXX

i sing of Olaf glad and big
whose warmest heart recoiled at war:
a conscientious object-or

his wellbelovéd colonel(trig
westpointer most succinctly bred)
took erring Olaf soon in hand;
but--though an host of overjoyed
noncoms(first knocking on the head
him)do through icy waters roll
that helplessness which others stroke
with brushes recently employed
anent this muddy toiletbowl,
while kindred intellects evoke
allegiance per blunt instruments--
Olaf(being to all intents
a corpse and wanting any rag
upon what God unto him gave)
responds,without getting annoyed
"I will not kiss your fucking flag"

straightway the silver bird looked grave
(departing hurriedly to shave)

but--though all kinds of officers
(a yearning nation's blueeyed pride)
their passive prey did kick and curse
until for wear their clarion
voices and boots were much the worse,
and egged the firstclassprivates on
his rectum wickedly to tease
by means of skilfully applied
bayonets roasted hot with heat--
Olaf(upon what were once knees)
does almost ceaselessly repeat
"there is some shit I will not eat"

our president,being of which
assertions duly notified
threw the yellowsonofabitch
into a dungeon,where he died

Christ(of His mercy infinite)
i pray to see;and Olaf,too

preponderatingly because
unless statistics lie he was
more brave than me:more blond than you.

8. I'm thinking of a scene I saw in a movie
a guys said he couldn't be bought, so a thug pointed a gun to his child's head and said, "This is the price." He complied.

9. Most of those confessions were probably more like fantasies.
KSM has a reputation, going back to when we first knew about him in the early '90s, for dreaming up lots of highly impractical "plans" that are never acted on.

10. Yes, I would
I would tell them whatever they wanted to hear. Even knowing someone willing to hurt children was surely willing to lie about letting them go if I confessed, I would still say whatever I had to say to try to save them.

I can't think of a parent I know who wouldn't. It is typical of this administration's arrogance and ignorance that they don't grok that parental feelings are for the most part the same everywhere.
