If you had to give up either sex or the Internet for two weeks, which would you choose?
http://www.nydailynews.com/money/2008/12/15/2008-12-15_intel_corp_survey_nearly_12_of_all_women.html
WOW!

48 percent of women and 30 percent of men prefer the Internet to sex, according to a new study by Intel Corp.

The study asked more than 2,000 adults what they would rather give up for a period of two weeks, the Internet or sex.

Turns out, a lot of them would rather give up sex. (This begs the question: where can we find out what they're surfing the Web for?!)

The survey also found:

*
58 percent of adults would give up watching TV for two weeks rather than have to give up Internet access for only one week

*
65 percent of adults said they cannot live without Internet access

*
39 percent said they couldn't live without cable TV and 20 percent couldn't live without dining out

*
Only 10 percent said they couldn't live without a gym membership.

10. This is kind of stupid
A lot of people have jobs that depend on their use of the internet. Many people would be fired if they didn't check their e-mail or do any research online for 2 weeks. Unless they specified non-work related internet use, for many people this question is: would you rather lose your job or not have sex for 2 weeks?

28. What "weather" we have, no one is prepared for.
Edited on Tue Dec-16-08 08:18 PM by sfexpat2000
We have an awful week every year of hot weather and no one has air conditioning so everybody just about dies from it. Same in Winter. There's always a week or two of weather so cold, nothing helps and no one is prepared to deal with it.

lol

It was about 40 degrees with a bad, cold wind out here about an hour ago and I saw my surfer neighbors puffing their way over to the beach. I hope they don't go into hypothermia and have to be fished out.

How are you guys? My dad is in St. Jo and I'm afraid to call and ask. :)

Besides that, many people who can't live without the Internet probably aren't having sex all that much anyway, so it's a no brainer for them.

So, unless my husband was going to take me to Fiji for those two weeks, I'd probably forgo sex.

The question sounds different this way, since giving up sex for 2 weeks isn't really such a change from status quo for a lot of people.

Maybe I can start using this as code with my wife "Honey, let's go online now."
