Muthathar al Zaidi shouted: "This Is A Goodbye Kiss, You Dog"...
Bush had just finished his prepared remarks in which he said the security agreement was made possible by the U.S. surge of troops earlier this year, when the journalist, Muthathar al Zaidi pulled his shoes off and hurled them at the president. "This is a goodbye kiss, you dog," Zaidi shouted.

Bush dodged the shoes and was not struck. Bodyguards quickly wrestled Zaidi to the floor and hauled him, kicking and screaming, from the room. Two other Iraqi journalists were briefly detained after one of them called Zaidi's actions "courageous."

2. Well they'd better detain the majority of the world
who now think Zaidi is a hero.

5. Anyone else get a nauseous feeling when Bush is compared to a lovely creature like a dog?
Why would anyone do that? Compare him to a pile of raw sewage or a cockroach but not a sweet dog.

9. Nice report from Al Jazeera
http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2008/12/2008121419453773379.html
<snip>
The outgoing US leader had just told reporters that while the war in Iraq was not over "it is decisively on its way to being won," when al-Zeidi got to his feet and hurled abuse - and his footwear - at the US president.

Sign of contempt

In Iraqi culture, throwing shoes at someone is a sign of contempt.
The incident will serve as a vivid reminder of the widespread opposition to the US-led invasion of, and subsequent war in, Iraq - the conflict which has come to define Bush's presidency.

16. Shouldn't have telegraphed his intentions like that
All the practice Bush has had ducking, it was probably instinctual for the Dim Son to shift ass when he heard someone hollering at him. On the other hand, if Zaidi had nailed him right between the eyes, there might be some unwarranted sympathy for President Fucknuts, and that would have been a real tragedy.

26. The circle of life
Bush went there to look like a hero and was greeted with the perfect metaphor for the invasion and occupation of Iraq. M$Greedia will start spinning this in the morning but as Michael Ware said, this was an iconic moment. I think Ware was trying his best not to laugh.
