2. Can he just stay there? Do we really need him here?
I mean, let's move this thing up a little bit and just get to work. At this point, Bush and his administration are surplus to requirements.

8. Yep. It's only "great news" if Bush stays there
Otherwise it is just one more waste of our tax dollars as Bush attempts to create a legacy. Can you say, "grasping at straws?"

3. So what's great about that?
Another bungee visit, without advance notice, as Bush scurries through a series of furtive photo ops, then jets back out of the country before anyone has a chance to show him what they really think of him. I've had more meaningful interactions with Jehovah's Witnesses when I close the front door in their faces.

But this is what passes for "great" for Mr. Gregory. I wonder if his standards will get adjusted any time soon. Like, say, January 21?

Thanks for the laugh, gratuitous.

18. Gregory had the temerity to say it
was "almost a state visit," relying on his audience's ignorance of what a "state visit" means.

Am now boycotting all Sunday a.m. talk shows except those broadcast on KPFK 90.7 (Pacifica).

7. Why do you think he was being sarcastic this time?
He's had quite a long history of effusing over Bush*... Granted when he was on the WH beat, he would ask pointed questions, but those days have seemingly been over for a very long time.

19. giving him the benefit of the doubt. i haven't seen his
flip to the right that apparently some here have. why would he say that bush being in iraq is good news? based on what criteria? that bush has done such a good job in iraq? the same iraq that gregory tried to hold bush's feet to fire earlier on? he was one of the VERY FEW who questioned the admin over the last 8 years. he gets my benefit of the doubt until he says something especially egregious.

13. I can't watch Gregory.
I did not care at all for his prosecutorial, "I-don't-believe-you" tone he took with Illinois AG Madigan. And THEN he had the balls to imply that SHE has an interest in getting Obama's seat.

Memo to NBC: Just kill Meet the Press already. Pull the plug. Thank you.
