Fightin' Words: Hannity Responds To Hall & Oates, Disses Jon Stewart
The highlight of last night's Daily Show was the moving send-off that Stewart gave career Fox News doormat Alan Colmes, who will be leaving the Hannity & Colmes show in January. Lamenting that he couldn't find the words to sum up what Alan Colmes meant to him, host Jon Stewart was ably aided by rock legends Daryl Hall and John Oates, who paid tribute to Colmes through a re-written version of their classic song, "She's Gone." Of Colmes, they sang, "You're the only non-douchebag on that show!" Aye, verily.

UPDATE: Colmes' co-host Sean Hannity responded to Stewart (and Hall, and Oates!) in a statement today: "I was actually thinking of Jon as a co-host but I needed someone who could be smart and funny without 50 writers and two has-been rockers who are badly in need of Botox."

2. Sean lied on 3 levels there
A) that he thought

B) that he ever "thought" Jon would take a ratings hit and be willing to lose all credibility by going on that "show"

C) that he has any clue what funny or smart is...

3. Hannity is just a smart mouthed bully.
He would never put himself in a position where he had to defend himself alone. He always needs at least 50 people to do his fighting for him. Hannity would never have the guts to say that in a one on one situation directly to Stewart's or any one else's face. Like most bullies he is a gutless little coward.
If he truly believed in what he spouted he would have signed up to fight in Iraq back in 2003. But like Goldberg and all the other draft-dodgers on the right he sit6s safely behind tons of protection and starts fights that others must fight.

14. And, of course, Hannity is just another Chickenhawk republicon propagandist
Hallmark of republicon propaganda puppets: their Chickenhawkery, never having served America for even 5 minutes.

Ptoooey on their phony republicon 'patriotism.'

4. Anyone who has seen the clip of Jon Stewart eviscerating Bow Tie Boy
FTucker Carlson as a guest on Crossfire knows that Jon is quite capable of handling himself quite wittily without a single writer in sight. Not that Jon Stewart would even consider sharing a billng with that bilious toad Shammity, but if he did, it would turn out to be Flammity's worst nightmare.

5. With Comedy Chops Like that, I can see why the Half-Hour Comedy Hours is such a ratings titan!
Oh, what, what was that ... it was actually cancelled a while back?

Oh, bugger.

8. The... er, A Daily Show went without writers during the strike.
I'd like to see Hannity go without a teleprompter for just one episode.

Alan Colmes is always there."
