Secret Service should require that Blair House be made available

Obamas have a legitimate reason to be there early, and the BH is set up for the security requirements I would assume. I don't think that the Obamas will have a problem finding other temp arrangements, but it seems like this would keep down security costs.

The Blair House is generally made available for the new President from Jan 15 till the innaguration. Since the Obama girls start school Jan 5, they asked if they could go ahead and move in there early so the kids could get acclimated, etc.

Administrations answer: NO. It is already booked. At first they wouldn't say for what, then it turns out it is receptions for the Bush Crowd.

The freakin Blair House is almost as big as the White House for cryin out loud!

One of the few even half decent things I can say about GWB is that he is not a full on racist. Prejudice that he is willing to overcome yes, racism no. Those around him may be full on racist and probably 99% of the R party is full on racist, but GWB is not.

This is about immature sour grapes. A parting flip the bird at the Democrats in general and Obama particularly. GWB has been politically beat within an inch of his life considering the only Democrat in the pack to be against Iraq from day 1 has won the election by a political landslide.

Honestly, caring more for receptions than to accommodate Obama's little girls getting started in their schools just leaves a bad taste in your mouth, all over again.

But then we know this guy is all about bad tastes. One would think that Laura would have a little more sensitivity, but there again she's going to be tooting off to wealthy Dallas neighborhood where she will be forever sheltered against any effects of public opinion.
