Bob Corker is an anti-American nutjob.
I heard him on the Tee Vee this morning. His goofy plan is to legislate that the (non-union) FOREIGN automakers decide what the going wage is for ALL auto workers in the U.S. and then the UAW is required by law to be "competitive" with them. He doesn't want to kill the UAW; he just wants it to be powerless to negotiate wages (and perhaps anything else). :sarcasm:

If he were to get that garbage enacted it would likely be only a matter of time before the foreign automakers--The Deciders--now without any upward pressure on wages, would be lowering their wages and the UAW would be legally required to follow them to the bottom.

A better idea is for the non-union auto workers in the foreign plants in the south to go on strike and demand unionization! Put a cork in Bob's whatever!

1. During the Civil War
The CSA tried to get foreign intervention to defeat the USA!

So it's really no surprise that they would favor the foreign car makers.

4. Good God, don't start this shit.
That was more than 200 years ago and has nothing to do with what's going on now.

It has to do with Republicans not thinking through issues (a trait of theirs) and union-busting.

2. He's not a nut, he's a goon.

He knows what he's doing, but he doesn't, like most Republicans, think further ahead than his own nose.

Yes, he thinks he's helping the foreign car companies in our state (I'm a Tennessean who voted for Ford Jr., not Porker, as he's called here), but he doesn't realize that if the Big 2 go (Ford's not in trouble), then parts production plants will go with them. This would effectively shut down Nissan and VW, which would put thousands of Tennesseans out of work.

3. That would be the Bob Corker who aired ads with tom-toms beating in the background
every time the name "Harold Ford" was uttered? :grr:

*-those, plus the ones with the blonde bimbette cooing "Come here, Harold!", were from the national repuke party, not the Porker campaign -- but I didn't hear Porker telling them to stop doing it, either.

ASSHOLE. Ex business owner knows everything, suckup to the alien implants, right wing sore loooser. It was typical this morning when asked if the repubs were willing to take responsibility for killing the US auto industry, he said "what, republicans responsible, it's not us, its the unions". He must'a been second string to that other asshole shelby, who was out lyin all week.

9. And CEOs.
Last I knew CEO compensation in Japan was around eleven times greater than the average worker. In Europe it's a bit higher. In the U.S. it is 400 to 500 times more! Let Japan decide!
