Know thy enemies. For those of you who are just waking up. It's union busting time. Last night was one step in the process.
Here are three DU quotes from another post.
1. The first is cynical in a perfect brute force of honesty.
"Well, it's the workers' own fault really.
I mean, they all should have gotten careers as Wall Street financial executives. Then Congress would be begging them to take billions of dollars of taxpayer money."

2. The second briefly explains that last night's vote was about posturing.
"Posturing. GM will not be allowed to fail.
Here's why:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph... There's too much money at stake in GM. Bush doesn't want to see it rescued. GMAC could not qualify for the status of a bank and therefore could not get TARP money even though they are a huge home mortgage holder. Democrats wanted to use the TARP money to bail out the auto companies. Remember? Now, Bush signed off on a deal to use other money for the auto companies, but his buddies in the GOP Senate are holding the deal up. This is in-fighting amongst conservatives in my view. John Snow and Dan Quayle are associated with Cerberus Management which owns 51% of GM and 80% of Chrysler. This deal will go through. The union busting is the goal, and the unions should strike until the Democrats have more clout in the Senate and can push it through. This is going to be a bleak Christmas no matter how you look at things."

3. The third explains why Harry Reid had to vote no...
"Correct, Reid's vote was procedural
Durbin made that clear in his remarks. Reid switched his vote at the end to leave open the possibility to reconsider. It is common for the majority leader to do that when a cloture motion fails."
Duer – Democrattotheend
So... The vote is posturing to bust the unions - Reid's action was procedural.
Not enough Dems were there to hold out. Republicans showed what they are made of - again - they are Congressional leaders who are there for the corporations and not for the people. They are nearly 100% manipulable for big business. They have given their all for corporations. They have given nothing to the workers unless we call the ceo's and cfo's of the top 5% of corporations - workers.
FYI: The thread below contains the quotes above – the subject line is not strong enough to last and these three posts will help others understand.
