So what does a Senator make in wages and benefits?
We have heard the $72 hr. lie about line workers. So if we use the same formula to calculate a senators pay what would that be. Remember. When they calculated the 72hr rate they used retirees and their benefits to figure current workers rates. Is their anybody out there with the time to do the math? I wouldn't know where to begin.

1. Just their pay alone at 165+K
Assuming they actually work 52 weeks a year and 40 hours per week comes to $79 and change per hour. That's not even counting their perks, healthcare, and retirement.

3. Don't forget the kickbacks and illegal campaign contributions!
And who knew that being married to a Congressperson or Senator automatically qualified someone to sit on so many Board of Directors or run "not for profit" institutions...

And then there is the book deals and the speeches given to various universities and corporations, all with those "honorariums" attached.

6. And included in those perks is Granma Nancy's hard-fought right to
haul any member of her family around with her on the taxpayer dime if the little man can't make the trip.

These thugs, both democratic and repubic, are bleeding this country dry.

2. What does it matter?
With benefits and perks it's a lot more than the purported $72 an hr.

5. This is for life, isn't it? I mean they quality for lifetime healthcare
pension and benefits after one term, so we are still supporting the retired dead wood from say 15 - 20 years ago.

Yet they can not only deny us healthcare, but even try to keep maimed veterans and military people out of hospitals because it's too expensive.
President Obama, we need some change here....

8. More than
their craptastic performance deserves, that's for sure.

(spellchecker needs 'craptastic' added as a word)
