2. The article is new to me, although I guess it was posted on the web

on Saturday of this weekend.

It mentions a liaison, Charles O'Byrne, between Kennedy and Paterson, giving the impression that this may have been in the works for a while. I'm only guessing, but both camps appear to be turning to this liaison figure to advance the idea.

3. It appears that she may be genuinely interested in the position if Gov.
Paterson were to offer it.

As for the subsequent races in 2010 and 2012, I don't think fundraising or campaign enthusiasm would be impediments.
