Turkey mulls 'invading' Iraq to kill some Kurds
http://mwcnews.net/content/view/12059/195/

Turkey's parliament went into secret session this week to debate sending troops to invade and occupy northern Iraq for security purposes.

More than 30,000 people have been killed in the confrontation between the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) and the Turkish army – about 400 last year alone, according to Turkey's Human Rights Association.

Onur Oymen, the deputy chairman of the Opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), said: "Northern Iraq is the only place in the world where a terrorist group can operate without being pursued."

"If the Iraqis and the US are not prepared to take action over this, then we must."

1. Turkey and Human Rights don't go together.
They have a long history of slaughter.

2. Just another day, thanks to the Bush doctrine
Just when we think it couldn't get any worse - and for what?

3. This is just horrible!
And of course the U.S.'s barbaric behavior justifies the barbaric behavior of others. Disgusting.

4. And the Kurdish
army is being marched into the mire of Bagdhad. Beautiful. The Kurds should concentrate on reducing the violence Turkey complains of and sidestep the US bill for dues.

What a terrible and in this case avoidable mess because the US is pre-occupied with making things worse everywhere.

5. I believe this would be referred to as the Bush Doctrine, no?
They constitute a potential threat to Turkey. Invasion is perfectly in keeping with established precedent.

7. The Turks will invade.
...and the Saudis will too. Iraq will end up in 3 pieces, as predicted in the past. Jim Webb was right. This was all predicted.

9. I'm not surprised at this...its been reported for a long time
that they've considered this. As Bush continues his downward spiral into insanity, we have to expect other countries to take action, whether right or wrong. We're giving them all the *ammunition*!

11. No, we're giving them the vacuum of power.
Bush has weakened our power in the world to negligible. Hey, we gave our industrial strength to China and now we'll have to beg them not to destroy our satellites. It's cute.

12. An interesting conundrum for the fratboy. Protect the Kurds by shooting Turks?
Fortunately, he is untroubled by minor unpleasantnesses in which people die by the thousands as long as his image as "the decider" is maintained.

But, he will trot our the usual flunkies who will call it all "regrettable" and "unfortunate" but just another "birth pang of the New Middle East."
