Chicago Factory Occupation Report on Kos.
Dailykos <http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/12/6/14287/1975/94/670127> has an excellent post up on the United Electrical Workers' occupation of Republic Glass factory in Chicago up now. Comments include some terrific videos of union organizing songs, past and present.

The shutdown of the factory was caused by Bank of America which, after accepting billions in federal bail-out money, refused to provide a loan to Republic to keep its doors open. BOA advised Republic not to pay its workers' their backpay.

Bank of American, after taking the bail-out money, invested seven billion dollars in businesses in China. So where is the over-sight over the use of our tax money?

3. WTF? What's your problem with Kos?
"Hate Site"? "Lying piece of Crap"? Since when? DKos is the center of the left-wing Blogosphere.

Let me guess, he pissed off the Naderite types posing as "Kucinich Supporters" and "Progressives"... :eyes:

5. Kos Didn't Write The Article.
Thousands of people post on Kos, should they all be tarred with the anti-Kos brush? The post is extremely interesting, especially many of the comments. This occupation is extremely important. It may be the flash point for millions of other workers and consumers who are being made jobless and homeless in this economic meltdown.

7. Congress didn't insist on oversight.
They said they'd set up a committee . . . but that takes time, doncha know, and they couldn't hold back the money because it the banks were going under, doncha know . . .

The banks can do whatever they want with the money and that's what they're doing.

8. If you want to show solidarity.. Close any accounts you have with this bank.
I don't bank there, but the best way to show how we are not happy with the banks taking our money and then denying loans to keep people working is to close checking and savings accounts. Its a bit harder to stop paying your mortgage if you have them.. or close a CD if the year isn't up.. but everyone show solidarity and make B of A pay.. they will be done.
