OJ rejected plea deal...wanted public apology
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 08:54 PM by medeak
Is he arrogant or a sociopath?

D.A.: O.J. rejected plea deal that would have brought less time, almost wanted public apology
December 6, 2008

LAS VEGAS (AP) — O.J. Simpson is headed to prison for at least nine years, but a prosecutor says the former football star could have spent less time behind bars if he had accepted a plea deal before he was convicted.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger said Simpson was offered a deal for less prison time than the nine- to 33-year prison terms the graying former football star was sentenced to on Friday for kidnapping and assaulting two sports memorabilia dealers with a deadly weapon.

“Mr. Simpson wanted something just short of a public apology,” Roger said. “We didn’t think that was appropriate.”

7. It's the "athlete mentality", period
He's stupid as a freakin' slab of meat with eyes. The main reason I believe he hired someone to kill Nichole (rather than doing it himself), is that he's just too damned stupid to do something like that without getting caught in the act.

23. ?
How do you explain O.J.'s DNA (blood) at the crime scene?

He did it himself and he hired the best legal defense money can buy -

He confessed it all in his idiotic book "If I

Did It

13. I actually felt sorry for him on this one,
I think he got an unreasonable sentence for just trying to retrieve his own possessions and after all nobody was hurt. I do believe he is a murderer so he is where he belongs after all.

15. watched every day of trial
disagree. Its all on tape of him saying he wanted to keep items from the Goldberg's.. he gave items to memorabilia sales friend to hold and sell under the table to keep records from the Goldman's. Phone calls were taped as well. He solicited help knowing the character of three of the individuals (two supposedly carrying guns) who were thugs. The verbiage of OJ telling these thugs what to do is not someone retrieving possessions. No one was hurt? One of the victims suffered a mass heart attack and was unable to give interview to police for several weeks as was in critical condition. No one was hurt? Man on trial with him who complied when asked for his car and help (realtor in Las Vegas) is now sentenced to 7 yrs and bankrupt.

the case at all. Never heard about the guy having the heart attack. Like I said he deserves to be there anyway I hope he goes to a real prison not one of those country club joints.

17. Both arrogant and a sociopath for thinking he was forever above the law.
Some poor schmuck bus driver would have been sentenced to twice as much time for this. White OR Black! (Channeling a similar quote from comedian Chris Rock here)

Here's an apology - I'm sorry you were so fucking arrogant and obnoxious that you felt you were forever above the law.

20. Did he really merit 33 years? Did he even merit one year for the
weak crimes that he committed? Our system is screwed and its really pathetic that folks on DU just like folks over at Freeperville want to celebrate his conviction. One more reason why the rest of the world thinks of us as a lost civilization.

21. He should have been sentenced
to busting into your house with his compadres and weapons. And you would have responded with, "Would you like milk or cookies, or both, Sir?" Right?
