1. I'm guessing because the banks are better at blackmail.
Especially when dealing with rich politicians and their portfolios.

5. Im finding the way Congress is treating the Big3 to be shameful
So help me, Reid and Pelosi had better put this to a full vote of each house of Congress so we know which Reps and Senators we can blame for the depression if they turn them down for those loans.

7. It makes me sick that these Bozo's think that the same banks responsible
.... for causing this economic crisis deserve unaccountable sums of money without oversight, but when our last major industry needs a loan thats 1/10 the amount they have to beg.

8. yes, I agree.
It could be a union factor, and we should know how some people view unions, it is like a bad word to them.

11. Didn't one congress critter claim they were threatened with
martial law? I vaguely remember a thread that said he (can't remember what his name was) was on C-Span stating this.

13. Yes, Senator James Inhofe. He claimed Paulson made the threat
I think it was during a radio show.
Maybe in Texas?

12. My guess is because it happened first.
Had Detroit been bailed out first, the bankers wouldn't have been given their bailout.
