Liberal half of 'Hannity & Colmes' quits Fox News show

BY VERNE GAY

One of the most successful teams in cable TV news history will soon be no more: Alan Colmes is leaving Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."

Fox News announced the departure yesterday, and in a phone interview, Colmes said he was leaving "because it's a great time to make a change, and I can't think of a better time - thankfully with a Democratic Congress and president, what more can I do?"

His last day, he said, will be sometime in January.....

6. Yeah...being polite to his guests, not talking over them, letting them answer his questions....
He has caught a lot of flack for that. Rachel Maddow is the same way, very polite and respectful, doesn't interrupt or throw trick questions at her guests, but she does have a little more authority and control over her own show than he was allowed and she can always have the last word. Maybe he could be a commentator on her show.

5. Good for him
I've started listening to his radio show podcast from iTunes and he's actually pretty tough on the RW nuts (some of them are VERY far out) that call into his show and he seems like a smart guy. It's kind of hard to believe that he's the same milquetoast "wimpish" guy I've heard he often is with Hannity.

8. He was paid to play the part of a wimpy liberal and to take a pounding from the right
wing and he did it well. I never heard him on the radio here in PA.
