When I started weightlifting nearly all of us idolized Arnold. And most of us did not know he was using steroids.

It's impossible to win any bodybuilding event unless your juiced (excluding the vanishingly rare "natural" bodybuilding contests).

Arnold, with all his womanizing, never seemed to go for that type of look--at all.

Personally I don't find them attractive, but they do draw large audiences of fawning male fans.
