I imagine most people believe that the particular human constructs (religion, philosophies, the arts, political platforms, etc) they themselves adhere to are the correct ones-- The Truth, and validate their own beliefs by minimizing counter-positions (i.e., calling the adherents of those *other* beliefs "deluded").

Heck, I do it myself on occasion...
