3. Personally...
I would like to find a heavy mortar, with plenty of ammunition. Not that I have any worries about it being confiscated, it's just that I have a great view from my apartment roof and it would be vastly entertaining to be lobbing mortar rounds around town and watch them blow shit up.

Good, god-fearing, patriotic American that I am.:nuke: :patriot:

31. Hi Paladin, hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. We pro-RKBA Dems must fight those who would take
away a right protected by the Second Amendment.

Now that SCOTUS has acknowledged that right, one would think gun-grabbers would shut up but no, they keep yapping like scared chihuahuas trying to make it easier for criminals to live their lives of crime without danger of attacking an armed victim.

I promise not to use my gun to defend you if you are attacked by violent criminals just to honor your dedicated effort to disarm victims.

68. Not A Very Good Answer, Jody

If Heller is really as potent as you say it is, all that yapping by those who don't share your views on guns shouldn't bother you; you ought to be able to ignore it. Like I've said before, the Supremes delivered your side the gift of a lifetime with Heller; it could have been drafted by Ted Nugent, if he had a functioning brain. And what's the response from you guys? About a day's worth of triumphal gloating, and then right back to the paranoid shrieking, with an emphasis on vilifying our Democratic president elect. The DU Gun Dungeon reads like FreeRepublic more than ever now, and you're one of the principal Obama-trashing voices down there. As if he's going to have any time in the next 8 years to devote to taking your guns away.

Oh, and thanks for the withdrawal of protection statement; kind of a reversed version of one of my favorite Gun Nut fantasies: "Heroic gun-bearing citizen protects spineless, pussified gun-grabber from evildoers, thus showing pathetic gun-grabber the error of his ways." Gotta love it.

Happy holidays, by the way.....

11. Obama could eliminate such fears if he would promise to veto any bill that renews the AWB. Instead,
he supports making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent that would ban the most popular firearms in America.

That contradicts his promise before the election "I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in people’s lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away."

Gun-owners have every reason to believe a Democratic controlled Congress will pass a bill like H.R. 1022 or S.2237 and Obama will sign it as he promised after the election.

77. I agree the right wingers lost but we progressive Dems interested in defending all rights protected
by our Constitution won a resounding victory when SCOTUS in Heller said "1. The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home."

That destroys the gun-grabber effort to ban firearms by claiming the 2nd protects a collective right, the militia, and not an individual right as so clearly stated by the authors of the Bill of Rights.

We pro-RKBA Dem progressives expect another victory in NORDYKE vs. KING when SCOTUS is expected to rule that the Second Amendment is incorporated into the 14th.

But I thought it was a pretty funny post anyway. I don't think anyone is going to take away anyone's guns. I don't own any guns, but most people I know do, of both parties. I just don't see it happening and I think people who are so worried about it are foolish.

20. They don't seem to understand some basics here:
1)If "Obama" is going to take their guns away, then any money they spend on guns wasted since they'll soon have neither.

2)If they plan on using the guns to keep "Obama" from taking their guns, then any money they spend is wasted since they'll lose their guns and either go to jail or be killed in the ensuing shoot-out.

("Obama" of course is a boogeyman, not to be confused with the current President-elect)

30. What's really funny is the posts in your thread re AK-47 when your OP says "AK47 VARIANT".
Automatic firearms have been regulated since 1934 under the National Firearms Act but semi-automatic "AK47 VARIANT" are not.

The problem is Obama's support for renewing the defunct "assault weapons ban" that is not about "assault" at all but an attempt by gun-grabbers to ban semi-automatic firearms.

Bills H.R. 1022 and S.2237 would renew the AWB and it is vigorously opposed by 80+ million gun-owners.

They want people to flag things that are against the rules. I flag things that are - counterfeit watches and purses, weapons, whatever I notice. Anyway, it's part of being in that community- they count on people who use the service to flag things that are against the rules. If three different IPs flag it, it gets pulled.

37. Why would he feel stupid?
He wants a weapon for a certain price and if the laws do not change in the future he has a weapon that he desired and paid what he felt was a good price for. Hell, if he lived in Texas I would probably see if he wanted one of my SKS rifles (I have 3). I have an AK-47 but I am not about to part with it as they are becoming pretty hard to find. With my Ruger Mini-14, my Panther Arms AP-4 (Civilian variant of the Military M-4 Carbine) and the Dragunov Sniper Rifle my dad left to me when he passed away, I have quite a collection of military hardware. I won't even bother to list my non-military rifles, shotguns and my handguns. Don't want to hit the bandwith of this site too hard. :)

If I did not have these, I would be seeking to buy at least a couple of them in case the laws do change in the future. If the laws do not change, I have some weapons that I wanted anyway if they do I already have them. If the laws changed and I did not have them then it would be too late.

43. Sales interstate would go through a FFL dealer and in some states like CA that's also required.
That's not illegal so why do you believe it should be?

52. i checked out gunbroker.com
the AK variants do seem to be escalating but the much better AR-15/M4 rifles are pretty much the same price range as before. Even the Colt models.

54. So many people on DU must think the party platform, Obama's support to reauthorize the AWB, and....
Edited on Sat Nov-29-08 11:33 PM by aikoaiko
...Democratic leaders in both houses who regularly talk about reauthorizing the ban are just running jokes.

A lot of Democrats are going to feel stupid if the AWB does get reauthorized and it costs us seats in both houses.

Something frightening and menacing to get the bed wetters all in a bug-eyed lather like a .50 BMG AK-47 with "sniper" scope, or perhaps a belt fed 1911 (includes 1,000 rounds of ammo).

60. Statement you cite is an offer to buy, not an "advertisement for sale" and complies with the rules
that say certain items the "advertisement for sale of which is not permitted on craigslist".

62. No, that's not how it works
You aren't allowed to ask to buy illegal drugs, child pornography, or anything else on the "prohibited items" list either.

65. I know nothing about craigslist but its rules prohibit sale of certain items. Perhaps the rules

should be rewritten but I really don't care.

66. The rules prohibit using craigslist to facilitate the sale of certain items.
It isn't specifically about posting things "for sale". If you post a "wanted" and you buy it, that's still a sale that took place through craigslist, and that's still against the rules.
