two ways that you can help polar bears
Contact your Representative and Senators and urge them to cosponsor and strongly support The Polar Bear Protection Act. Ask them to close the loophole that allows sport hunters to kill polar bears in Canada and bring their “trophies” back into the US.
Write to the Fish and Wildlife Service of the Interior Department before April 9th and urge them to list polar bears as a threatened species. Let them know these species deserve a break from climate change as well as trophy hunters.
Then please pass this alert on to everyone you know and urge them to save the polar bears before it’s too late.

Please, please, please do this to help these majestic animals. Thank you.

1. Yeah.. I think the schools would get into this too....
I know kids are so enraged about this, it freaks them out! I just thought maybe schools could get involved.. like "kids for polar bears" and they could all write their reps asking to support the Polar Bear Protection Act. Only thing I don't know is if parental permission would be necessary. If so, maybe a blanket note home, asking permission they join"kids for polar bears" and send to reps before bill hits the floor...

sound reasonable to you?

3. How much time do I have to do this?
better said, how little time do I have? I need a deadline.

4. the web site is www.ifaw.org
and there is a link to contact them for more info. I did not see any date for contacting your congressman on the hunting law, but the deadline for declaring them as an endangered species is April 9.

A related story is of the zoo in Berlin, Germany and an animal rights activist who thinks that a young polar bear should be euthanized. The cubs mother rejected it, so it has been kept alive through human intervention.

Thanks.
