Our Gov just rescued CitiGroup ---- have your interest rates gone down at your house?
Yet again billions and billions of our tax payer dollars are tossed in to save the ass of another bank.

Just wondering, when will we see <<<if ever>>> a reduction in interest rates for either our credit cards or home mortgages as a result of all this infusion of tax dollars?

I am a hard working divorced dad of two teenage kids, years ago I had to double mortgage my house --- yet I have always managed to pay the bills, never had to default on anything, and only have 2 credit cards I use sparingly (wish I had none).

So do regular working folks get any break from the payouts of these corporate fuck ups?

Just wondering if you have experienced any trickle down from (your tax dollars) covering the losses of the banks that charge us interest for their lavish and arrogant choices?

Have your interest rates gone down on any credit card or home loan as a result? Where is the benefit to us that I/we can SEE?

1. We won't see that. Interest rates will go up, fees will go up,
and banks will do better than ever, no question in my mind, with little protest from Congress.

As I said on another thread, if you've been observing things for the last 20 years, you know that Congress doesn't give a shit about the American people and their own financial struggles.

4. "Have your interest rates gone down on any credit card or home loan as a result?"
I have my home mortgage through CitiGroup. About a year ago I got one month behind. I pay every month now, but it's for the previous month. I've racked up a couple thousand in late charges, but still pay regularly. I'm hoping to get caught up with our tax return in February, but don't like the idea that I'm giving them money to stay in business so I can continue to give them money! :grr:

6. Yea, they charge you a late fee and when they are late - you and I give them billions!
...don't like the idea that I'm giving them money to stay in business so I can continue to give them money!

 :grr:

KansDem, it is indeed hypocrisy at it's finest! Pretty fucked up if ya ask me. And I have yet to see what the real benefit is to saving the banks. Other than they can now lend more so folks can borrow more so they can spend more?

5. Citibank actually cancelled my credit card on me
because I never use it without giving me chance to use it. After they cancelled it, they sent me a notice that my interest rate will go up to 21%! Maybe this is why they are losing business. Idiots.
