President Gore was on with Fareed Zakaria. It was a substantive interview. Good, thoroughly researched, confidently asked questions on a variety of subjects, in an atmosphere where 2 men of great intellect trustingly talked to each other.
There were no unspoken agendas, nobody to balance things out from the right. It was a conversation not burdened with the irritations of the supposed fair and balanced take on things we have come to suffer since the Divider has been in office while fear ruled the land.
It was a New Day for me today because the dime fully dropped.
Not that I have not noticed the differences of behavior in the Media. I realize we begin to take for granted that things are said on the air that would have "exploded" the Democratic Underground posting threads in the past..
What happened to me is that it sank into my heart.
We really are finally back in charge. We are able to do the work that needs to be done. We have the potential of GREAT leadership with unheard of support from the Senate, the House and the People. The elders, the experienced, and the wise people who have so much to offer are being heard, solicited and "hired" in great numbers. The new dawn is here.
My highlight from the interview was:
Fareed: Do you think that, since large power, once assumed, does not usually revert, Vice President Biden will step into the role of power Dick Cheney created and assume it as well ? (paraphrasing this one)
Gore: (direct quote) "I hesitate to comment on Bush and Cheney, because I have recently begun to fear that I'm losing my objectivity on them."
The exchange simply hung there. Nobody to jump in who needed to be strangled (absence of Bay Buchanan gratefully noted). Nobody to soft pedal or explain.
It was all there, powerful evidence that the winds of change are blowing hard.
I am very grateful tonight.
