One of the best friends I ever had was a Mustang- caught wild to become
one of the best riding partners ever...

Did I mention, I LOVE Mustangs?
BEST HORSE EVER.

1. I am reading about the mustang "Shy Boy" now in a 1999 book by Monty Roberts

Roberts is an original "Horse Whisperer" and he loves mustangs, too.

Pickens is a very good woman to do this, outside of the fact she's still a right wingnut married to the guy who sponsored the Swift Boat Vets.

2. They are amazing spirits... if you earn the trust and friendship of a Mustang-

You have passed the test of being an authentic human.
Much like gaining the trust of a feral cat...
Both are magnificent beings in my experience.
I've never met a human as loyal or dependable.

3. I have gained the trust of wild animals since childhood, but never a mustang.
Have you gentled mustangs? If so, I envy and applaud you.

6. Heavens no... I'd like to learn how someday though!
One of the things I REALLY want to do in my lifetime
is visit the Blackfoot rez- a fellow there organized
an operation to return the Mustang, or the Buffalo horse,
to the area. At one time, the people of that area
were quite well known for their relationship with the Mustang.
It was essential to their way of life and very much a part of
all aspects of their culture, including a secret medicine society.
I'd love to visit there expressly to learn more about
their particular way of working with mustangs.

The horse I rode for nearly ten years was caught wild
in New Mexico and I have to say, one of the best friends
I ever had. She has passed over now, and I miss her so much.
I still dream about her, and yes, she can talk.

Heh-

5. I think it was a great thing,
it doesn't matter who she is, the horses are magnificent, and this was a wonderful act.
