Bush 'Very Pleased' With Iraq War Outcome: Report
US President George W. Bush believes the Iraq war was a success and is "very pleased" with what is happening there, he said in a pre-recorded interview broadcast on a Japanese television network Sunday.

"I think the decision to remove Saddam Hussein was right," Bush told the Sunday Project programme of the private Asahi network.

Saddam was an enemy of the United States and a lot of people thought he had weapons of mass destruction, Bush said, adding "remarkable" progress had been made in Iraq since the late dictator was toppled in 2003.

"People have been able to take their troops out of Iraq because Iraq is becoming successful. I'm very pleased with what is taking place there now," he said, adding there still is "a lot of work" to be done.

"We are bringing troops home because of the success in Iraq. But Iraq is not yet completely safe.

"So there will be a US presence for a while there at the request of the Iraqi government," he said.

"The United States is willing to continue to help. Most countries there within a very broad coalition have come home but we want to help this government," he said without further elaborating.

The Japanese network said the interview was conducted in Washington just before Bush left for Asia-Pacific talks in Peru at the weekend.

The Bush presidency has been indelibly marked by the Iraq war, from the invasion spurred by false allegations that Saddam was harbouring weapons of mass destruction to the abuses by US troops of Iraqis in the Abu Ghraib jail.

Some 4,200 US soldiers have been killed in the country in a war which has also cost the US hundreds of billions of dollars.

7. I suspect Dubya is pleased
when he can find his own navel. On second thought, I don't believe he is capable of that kind of inner introspection.

8. I love how he shrugs it off as "A lot of people thought he had WMD."
Yeah, and a lot of people think a lot of things that are stupid and ill considered. The difference is, the President of the United States is supposed to be a LEADER, not some chump who just goes along with what "a lot of people" think.

Oh, wait...he never cared in the slightest what anyone thought. This eight years went off with nary a hitch. They didn't get Social Security in Wall Street like they wanted. But by the end of Bush's term, never once challenged on even the most preposterous, anti-constitution edicts and signing statements, they said "Why the fuck not?!" and they just went ahead and took the money anyway. A grand exit, fitting of an Oceans 11-type plot. The Bush Boys profited handsomely off bogus NCLB software and other nefarious family associations to Bush policy. I do hear that Poppy's Carlyle Group took a beating in the market, which is why I'm pretty sure we'll never know where Hank Paulson sent the $350 billion. The family oil buddies took the notion of price gouging and opportunism to new heights, reaping enough profits to buy out GM and Ford and Chrysler together, and helping them sell another 17,000,000 petrol-suckers a year (you know, the one's "no one" was buying...all 17,000,000 of them).

Now, conveeeeeeeniently, on the way out the door, the war get wrapped up in a neat little bow, gas prices drop to levels we haven't seen in years (drying up a lot of alternative-energy research funding in the process! SURPRISE!), and Bush and his war criminal cabal exit stage far-right without so much as a parking ticket.

I'll bet he's pretty pleased, all right. He's pathological in his need for approval only from those about whom he gives a shit. This makes him impervious to criticism, or lay-away-at-night introspection. He had a mission, a plan, and despite what we chumps about to lose everything think, his mission really WAS accomplished.

The final joke was on us. Frat Boy pulled one last massive, monumental, history changing practical joke on the world, right before our eyes. And he got away with it.

9. Psycho is right ..........
I really do hope he's happy with his illegal invasion and warcrimes, I hope he congratulates himself every time he thinks about all the human beings his lies have killed in such horrific ways, how he's wasted billions that could have been spent feeding and treating his own people instead of mutilating small children and destroying the cradle of civilization, I pray he believes denationalizing Hussein's oil was worth the price because otherwise, the f*cker would go insane. Oh wait! Too late.

Suffer in hell, Dubya.

12. Good, Fuckstick....
...then when you're on your deathbed, you won't mind the 4000+ of our servicemembers and the untold number of Iraqi and Afghani civilian casualities ripping your soul to shreds as you shuck your mortal coil.

Then a thousand of Satan's demons have their way with you.
