What can we DU to help Paul Minor?
DU has been talking about this for a long time and I'm not sure how I stumbled on it -from a Seigelman post probably - but it seems to me that someone convicted of "honest services mail fraud" sitting in jail when Ted Stevens got reelected is a travesty of justice.

Are there any organized protests or people we can email? Who needs to be pressured to see actual justice done in his case?

Next month in Atlanta, a federal court will hear the high-profile appeal of former Alabama governor Don E. Siegelman, whose conviction on corruption charges in 2006 became one of the most publicly debated cases to emerge from eight years of controversy at the Bush Justice Department. Now new documents highlight alleged misconduct by the Bush-appointed U.S. attorney and other prosecutors in the case, including what appears to be extensive and unusual contact between the prosecution and the jury.

Remember, we knew about this, but Time has gotten the documents. Remember too, that the Bush appointed-Karl Rove-friend-judge on the case, Mark Fuller, knew about the jury tampering and discounted it.

A recent email alerted me to the plight of Paul Minor, who currently sits in prison convicted on the esoteric criminal act of "honest services mail fraud." Apparently, Minor arranged to loan money to Oliver Diaz for his campaign for Justice of Mississippi Supreme Court. Minor, along with a Republican co-owner who was not prosecuted, also rented an apartment to Justice Diaz. There is no evidence that Minor received anything in return for the loan or for the apartment, beyond the rental. It seems to be another instance of our tax dollars and impartial Department of Justice at work. Why would someone want to "silence" Minor and others who might also be big donors to Democratic candidates? Standingup in the comments provided one possible reason from The Tortellini:
