Don't forget that Obama is a very good poker player...
In regards to the Hillary offer, he may be betting that she does not want to leave the Senate. If she does turn it down, he will rake in a very big pot. If she accepts, he probably has a side bet with Richardson?

He would have to do this for Hillary to get Senate confirmation. Hillary's not going to accept the job, in my opinion. The income loss will be huge!

On Edit: SORRY! I just realized we were talking about two Bills here! I like the idea of Bill Richardson as Sec. of State! The Bill in my subject line referred to President Clinton.
