Email from Jane Hamsher (fire dog lake): Time to get rid of Lieberman, once and for all
Dear XXXXXX,

We'll find out this week if the Democratic Party will boot Joe Lieberman from its ranks, and we have a chance to help them make the right decision.

Since losing the Connecticut Democratic primary, Senator Lieberman has threatened to leave our ranks and even joined the Republican Convention to attack Barack Obama in a keynote speech. The long and the short of it is that he is no Democrat. As such, it's high time the Democratic Caucus took appropriate action and stripped him of his committee chairmanship.

Members of the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee will be deciding if Lieberman keeps his chairmanship this week, so we need to take to the phones and let them know that we want him out of the caucus.

To make phone calls to get rid of Joe Lieberman, go here:

http://tools.advomatic.com/7/kickjoe

Our voices can make a real difference here. The members of the Steering and Outreach Committee know that they can't turn their back on their base. If enough of us take action, we can sway this decision, which may already be leaning our way.

Thank you,

Jane Hamsher, Firedoglake Action

P.S. If you haven't yet, please also sign out petition to the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee:

1. Joe Lieberman is a Neocon and so as such does not believe in
Democracy. He believes in the Neocon philosophy of a benevolent king/dictator and a ruling elite dominating the ignorant masses (i.e. you and me). Remember that the Neocons have the same philosophy as the Germans in the 1930's but reinvented without the antisemitism.
(see Leo Strauss Philosophy Professor Chicago University) They believe they are above the law, have no need to heed any morals, ethics and it is their duty to deceive the ignorant masses to retain power. (hence all the lies and distortions in the McCain campaign that was run by the Neocons)
So Lieberman owes no loyalty to the Democratic party he owes it only to himself. He will lie, and deceive as much as it takes to retain power and position others in his group to gain positions where they can influence and set themselves up to take power back as soon as possible.
The Neocons are not necessarily Republican although many are. They believe that Liberal Democracy will lead to the destruction of Civilization as we know it and so are tasked to "SAVE" us from ourselves. They are on a mission. That is why they are able to attract many 'Christian's' into their ranks because the 'Christians' they attract are already used to Authoritarian rule. Taught from a young age not to question the Authority of the Church and Bible so make perfect little followers who have been conditioned into accepting whatever their leaders tell them as 'absolute truth' and that anyone who disagrees with them must be from the Devil trying to deceive them.
Neocons do not believe in religion so can be nominally from any religion. They say that religion is for the "ignorant masses" that it is a myth or fable to keep good order and to help get the masses to behave in a way that makes it easier to rule over them.
Read Hitlers book "Mine Kompf" and compare what he says to what the Neocons do. World domination through the projection of military power, perpetual war, keep the population scared of external enemy, arrest and imprison without trial, limit protests, lie and deceive to gain and retain power.

So now you have it. Look at Lieberman's actions and they speak for themselves. All of the Neocons and their followers should be purged from their positions of influence and flushed out of our society just as the Nazi's were from Germany, and France and other European countries after WW2.

2. I don't care if Lieberman stays in the caucus or not
But strip him of his committee chairmanship, assignments and seniority, and put him on the list behind the very last Democrat in the Senate. If Joe wants out of the caucus then, that will be up to him, and his choice. But if he wants a spot in the Democratic caucus, he has to earn his way back to the power and the perks.
