Seven channels of tv news-programs are directed to 30% of the population.
Fox-Murdoch, CNN Time-Warner, NBC MSNBC CNBC General Electric, CBS Viacom+, ABC Disney+.

When it comes to news, special programs, talk shows, documentaries related to this country, we need relief.

The owners of these channels didn't win with their propaganda after all these years, i.e., if winning is convincing EVERYONE to follow the agenda THEY push on behalf of THEIR ultra political military-corporate complex. This complex that intends to force THEIR politics, THEIR religion, THEIR morals, THEIR hate programs, THEIR patriotism, and THEIR reasons for killing.

Is there any hope that we can get a neutral channel that people of all incomes can access? That we can watch to get a dose of fairness?

Or are we going to suffer this takeover of our public privilege forever?

What happened the the channel that Al Gore was working on - still just for the youth?

Presently, we are going to see token balance until January 20. The minute Obama is in The White House, it's all going to start over again. A war on everyone who is not them. A campaign to get their people back into the WH to complete the agenda.

Please don't answer with Olberman and Maddox. They are a gift to us and the country. Both had a part in this win, especially Olberman because of longevity. Think of it this way - each of them is on the air of one of the NBC networks for ten hours - with a repeat of O -- while the three NBC's are on the air 504 hours a week, including repeats. If you add in CNN and FOX - that's 840 hours a week compared to the Maddox and Olberman 10 hours.

When is there going to be a Democratic channel?

1. Current TV.. pretty much unwatchable, most of the time
It's like YouTube..short snippets of "stuff"..with twenty-somethings sitting around on a couch, "introducing" & kibbitzing with each other..

We need more INTERNATIONAL news...expanded and more available Mosaic-like broadcasts, so the average person can see how OTHER countries report the same events.

Journal (Deutche-welle)
DateLine (Australian)
BBC (not the schmaltzy BBC-America)
CNN-I

Our nightly-news should be an HOUR..and NO sports or waterskiing gerbils..

News should be separated from the "entertainment" divisions, and they should be REQUIRED to do and report on investigative journalism..

2. We need tv independent of computers. I don't have tv right now and I get a lot of
the highlights because of YouTube, but we have to think about the people who don't have the computer or those who don't have the speed needed to see YouTube easily.

I had satellite and I do miss the FreeSpeech and Link TV programs. But, it's crazy that it costs so much to get it. Mosaic was great. There is another world out there.

I am really zeroing in on the talk shows - I think they are popular and could be worthwhile, but they are the source of propaganda - by design.

4. K&R to keep pressure on to break up the corporate media monopolies.
For those who may not know the history of the right wing campaign to move the US media to the right,
"What Liberal Media?" by Eric Alterman explains their very concerted, persistent campaign in detail.

For a shorter article about media consolidation into right wing hands, check this out:

5. Need suggestions - how can we get a Democratic channel - I don't think the
7 networks are going to abandon their agenda becaue of who they are by corporate association. They are going to start skewering Dems. They had eight years of conducting character assassinations of the Clintons and Al Gore. They had eight years of pompous and arrogant rule over Dems.

We need a balance even it is only 1/8th. We have an opening.

Suggestions? Solutions? Ideas?
