The problem with black people is...
The problem with the gay community is...

The problem with Jews is...

The problem with women is...

The problem with everybody is...

some of them just can't figure out that if you start a sentence with the phrase "The problem with XYZ is..." there's no way they can complete that sentence without sticking their foot in their mouth. They're the one with the problem.

are uncomfortable with them IS

perhaps you might want to yell at the pollsters who catogorize the people they question based on race or religion. what are the point of these polls?

3. This "you're just ignoring facts" argument is one that's widely used before.

Do you really want to go down that path?

I'm starting to think....
....that the point of these polls may be to try and pound wedges between groups, to crack and divide. I guess maybe a unified nation might not make as interesting headlines as a divided one in the long run?

don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud......

Since I've always been an unwavering supporter of gay rights, this one's going to be equally successful for you.

11. The problem is that which facts one chooses to focus on reveals what they view as important.
Polling data was taken on income level, age, marital status, and education levels. People who were married with children voted 68% for prop 8, almost exactly the same as black voters. Yet the ire is reserved for black people. So what is the point of seizing on the stats of 10% of the electorate when a huge portion of the electorate has simlar stats?

7. Best senate victory since Gorton v. Cantwell.
You remember Smith's debate with Wyden back in 1996? The one where they were asking him how much for a gallon of milk? Or to find Yugoslavia on a map?

15. Gordon Smith back in 2000 ran an anti-Gore witchhunt during election...
Gordon Smith ran Senate hearings during the 2000 election accusing Gore of traitorously accepting campaign contributions from the Chinese government. I just did a Google search on this to back up my memory on this, but couldn't find it. Anyone else remember this? What a sleazebag.

10. The same thing happened after 2004.
A number of people started blaming gays for Kerry's loss, citing statistics showing that the gay marriage issue drove Bush over the top.

They were shouted down and Skinner put a stop to it by banning the homophobes. It's time, I think, for Skinner to step up to the plate again.

9. The problem with humans is...
We have this tremendous tendency to deal with our own insecurities by compartmentalizing and isolating others, all the while ignoring that they're fellow humans.

Not ALL of our differences from the rest of the animal world are good things.
