For the record, it's normal for parts of the Democratic Coalition to not get along
We are the party that somehow fused Southern Whites and Northern Ethnics into a monolith for 100 years.
The fact that there is an issue between African Americans and Homosexuals is not something that should tear a coalition apart.
(By the way, this is why I hate initiatives towards direct democracy like California has. You end getting these little pockets of self-interest combined with fear and/or ignorance and you end up with neighbors hurting neighbors. At least you can vote out a homophobe in the legislator. What do you do with the homophobe across the street?)
... for some members of that "coalition" to use a state Constitution to actively remove rights from other members of that "coalition." That has never happened in the history of this great nation ... until now.
