My best guess for the 2008 nominees: Gore (D) & Hagel (R).
I'm guessing (and hoping) that Gore will choose Feingold and Hagel will choose Romney to be their respective running mates.

They seem most likely to win at this point simply by the nature of both men holding off on a run at this point.

1. I like the way you think!
Run, Al, run.

Feingold is a great choice, but I'd be happy with almost anyone as VP if Gore runs (as long as his name doesn't start with "L" and end with "man."

3. Oh, I hope so, he is really the best candidate
Hillary and Bill have already had the WH for 8 years, enough is enough, people do not
want a campaign based on fallout from the Monica scandal.

4. Wouldn't bet on Hagel
History indicates that Republican dark horses do not come on strong at the finish line, and Giuliani's lead is overwhelming. No idea who would be his running mate, but I would bet on it being someone from the South to balance the ticket, and I wouldn't rule out Fred Thompson.

Wouldn't Boxer be a good VP as well? Especially with her push for getting all the signatures for Gore for the Global Warming hearing NEXT WEEK!!!( Can't wait to see if it's going to play on C-span!!)

9. If that's the case we will end up with another Republican President. All Independents would
vote for Hagel in that matchup. Well at least 3/4 of them.

12. If Hagel runs, the nomination is his to lose. The war will "fade away" with Bush, and the Cons will

be looking for another "leader" of their party. When they see that Hagel has Vietnam service and 100% ratings from "most" Conservative groups, they will fawn over him. If Romney is the nominee, his running mate might be Jeb Bush. Romeny is the Bush family's pick.

11. MSM is hoping for a "subway series" campaign:
Clinton v. Guiliani

Otherwise, I'm in the Edwards/Richardson camp :toast:
