New sportscasters "dress code" on CBS? (NCAA)
So I'm watching the NCAA playoffs with the hubby on CBS right now, and as the Ohio State-Xavier game ends, they cut to the sportscasters...and all three of them are wearing what he and I have come to call the "Freeper Flag" ... the U.S. flag pin on the left lapel. I'm used to seeing them on politicians and even the talking heads, but sportscasters??? Anyone seen this before, or is this the playoff dress code at CBS?

3. You misunderstand me
The U.S. flag is *not* the "Freeper Flag", and I apologize if my meaning was not clear. What we call the "Freeper Flag" is the iconic U.S. flag worn on the lapel almost as if it is part of a uniform or a "see, I'm an uber-patriot" statement, as has been done for a few years now by Rethugs all over. We call it this derisively because we resent the co-opting of American iconography by one political faction.

4. exactly,
patriotism is not simply wearing a flag on your lapel. Patriotism is fighting for and supporting the ideals that made a country great. If I wear a flag and buy imported Chinese crap and support imperialistic wars with my "made in China- Support the Troops magnet" on my huge gas guzzling SUV, then I dont have to think.
