5. We need a LOT more of this sort of attitude from our politicians:
"So what if it's risky. It's the right thing to do."

Politicians should look at their terms as one-shot deals and just plan on doing THE RIGHT THING, and if they get voted out, so be it. It's called COURAGE.

21. Nice signature quote...
Rachel Ray just rubs me the wrong way. Why use an acronym like EVOO if you're just going to immediately define it EVERY SINGLE TIME?!

23. LMAO!!
I HATE it when she uses the EVOO term. I cringe. My husband cringes. My kid doesn't because he thinks she's cute (he's just 7, though, so I can't complain).

Hell, my husband will call it that when I'm cooking just to get on my nerves.

17. Good for Richardson! But why is this issue considered so controversial?
Edited on Sat Mar-17-07 06:40 PM by Pushed To The Left
Only a complete idiot would vote against somebody for simply wanting to make it legal for ill patients to take their medicine. This issue should be a no-brainer for ALL Democratic candidates. I applaud Richardson for taking a stand for these people that are suffering. Hopefully, more will follow in his footsteps.

:applause::woohoo::applause::woohoo::applause::woohoo::applause::woohoo::applause::woohoo::applause::woohoo::applause::woohoo::applause:

Richardson said he has been asked about the issue by only a few voters while campaigning in Iowa. He said the White House had urged him not to sign the bill.

"I don't see it as being a big issue," he said. "This is for medicinal purpose, for ... people that are suffering. My God, let's be reasonable," he said.

28. It is the right thing to do. It's called simple compassion.
I will absolutely write him and thank him... his office should be flooded with calls and letters.

I don't know a lot about him yet, but now he's peeked my curiosity up so I'll read up sooner rather than later on him.

So here is a :kick: anyway.

I am going to do some reading on Richardson. As someone with a chronic illness who could be helped by this I am seriously going to look at supporting him. It would be nice to have someone with SANE drug policy beliefs in the Whitehouse.

35. I Wouldn't Get Excited Yet
Even if it goes through, all patients would have to get their pot from the state health department.

The state health department is not going to buy from Adam, down the street, who's growing the kind bud. They're not going to buy it from Jeff in Tennessee who's got a farm.

They're going to buy it from whomever the government contracts to, and that entity will be in charge of the whole operation in order to insure uniformity.

It's a little step, but pro-MJ people need to join NORML if you want to have any kind of voice in regulations.
