Voted early yesterday in North Carolina.
Got there at 4:30 pm and there were probably 100 people in line. Voting was done at a strip mall.
There were several people in the parking lot giving out information on local democrats running for office, but didn't see anyone with Obama/Biden literature. Lots of McLame signs and several people were walking around the parking lot carrying big McLame flags.
I was asked my name and address, but didn't have to show any ID. Took about 30 minutes to vote using paper ballots.
In NC, if you vote a straight party ticket, you still have to vote for president seperately. Ballots were given out with a yellow note card reminding voters of this.
There was a line for Spanish-speaking voters.
After voting, we fed out ballots into a ballot reading machine. The guy standing in front of me had his ballot kicked back out with a message telling him he filled in too many blanks, so they destroyed his ballot in front of him and gave him another one.
That is all.

1. Where are you? Sounds like we need Obama volunteers there.
I'm glad that they told you about the straight party ticket and allowed the man in front of you to vote on a clean ballot.

2. We're having heavy early voting here in Middle Tennessee, today's the last day.
Now I'm not saying we'll win in Tennessee, Gore couldn't even carry Tennessee in 2000, but I really think it'll probably be a 54-46 election. Pretty good.

Fortunantly, there are states with more vision and sense than us. I'm glad the Obama campaign spent very very little here.
