Nudging the polls in Missouri:

More heartache for McCain. So many states, so little time.

1. MO will be a nailbiter
but that's how it was when McCaskill won and Obama won in the primaries.

2. I've been working on my conservative brother to vote for Obama.
He's reluctant, but he doesn't like McCain.

I'm also working on my mom to vote for Obama in Colorado. Not much hope there, but I'm working on it.

And, I'll be working the phones in IN on Saturday. (Poor, exhausted voters will be real pleased to be hearing from me.)

3. Perhaps not as much of a nailbiter as you think
St. Louis proper will be overwhelmingly for Obama. The greater St. Louis area will also go for Obama, as will the entire I-70 corridor, Columbia, Kansas City, and even the small burgs in between. From where I stand, I think that even Callaway County(which only officially rejoined the union ten years ago) will go for Obama. This leaves everything South of Lake of the Ozarks, Ashcroft country, that will swing for McCain. The votes for McCain in Springfield and the Cape will be overwhelmed St. Louis and KC, and there is really scare population everywhere else. I'm thinking Obama gets it by at least five points. We'll see though.

5. jimmybama in missouri
I am a Missouri Democrat from the Kennedy era and I don't ever
remember as much enthusiam and political vigor as I see this
time for Barack. I see way more people displaying O and Joe
signs than I ever remember for Democrats in the past. I have
had my signs stolen several times and I keep replacing them
with hand made signs like You stole my sign you won't steal my
vote, and You stole our Obama sign so I bought another one
that's more money for Obama, And I believe in the right to
bear arms and protect my property, try to steal my sign again,
go ahead, make my day!!
GO OBAMA

9. Obama will need 40% or a bit better in Southern MO---especially Springfield area
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 09:47 AM by MoJoWorkin
and a huge turnout in St. Louis, KC and Columbia (where Obama will be tonite at a rally at University of MO) He is hitting the remaining large University areas---Columbia and Springfield, where it is noted below, he will be on Sat. nite.

Kerry got 37% here in Greene County, Springfield area, in 2004 (Kerry lost MO by over 196,000 votes)

Gore got 39%. (Gore loss was closer--around 78,000 votes)

6. Obama coming to Springfield MO this weekend!
We just heard yesterday, place to be decided, Saturday at 9pm Central time. We're way happy! This is a very red area of the state, but there's a lot of folks for Obama here.
