2. If Cantwell did, I'm assuming Patty Murray did too?

3. Unfortuantely, no.
Cantwell actually got one right that Murray got wrong. Though as corporate friendly as she is, I doubt Maria would have voted the same way if WaMu hadn't been a casualty just literally days before the vote.

Whatever the case, I'll take the vote, for all the good it did. Neither of them have exactly a spotless record during the Chimpministration.

5. Sadly, that won't happen.

It's all about feeling good, management of perception, and believing and trusting time and time again in foxes to be in charge of the hen house.

It's about dying for a lie, and fighting for false paradigms rather than living and fighting for the truth, however painful it may be to face.

It's about believing in the quick fix, the easiest way out, the path of least resistance, and not being bothered with the details. Just give me my cheeseburgers, my football, my beer, my TV, tell me what I want to hear, and I'm good.

It's about not being able to handle the truth, therefore believe anything that will shield me from it.

It's about comfort, complacency, and coincidence theory.

It's about being too afraid of what's really there, so better instead to believe in what we want to be there instead.

You want America To Wake Up?

Me dear friend, first you have to make them realize they are asleep.

Good Luck with that.

6. Sigh.
1. It is FAR too soon to be passing judgement on the program. It will be at least a year before we can begin to judge the effects.
2. Only 250 billion has been used so far. If banks don't start lending soon, they will lose access to the rest. And it is in their interest to start loaning money in any case. That is how they make money.
3. The money has not been thrown away. It has been used to buy shares in the banks. If the banks use the money in ANY way that makes them money, including buying other banks, we will still be ahead.
4. The New York Times is NOT the only news organization covering this. In a quick online search I found 13 stories from different media on the topic.

I am sorry to rain on your nasty little parade with some facts and common sense.

7. Hey, I'm happy to have my parade rained on.
If you're right, tell me so in a year. (And prove that the original bailout was the cause of the new lending practices.. well, that'll be hard I know.)

Guess I just don't fucking trust the banks. I should be more trusting.
