I remember catching my son when he was maybe 4 practicing his moves in front of the mirror -- working as hard as any movie star to get the intonation and gestures just right.

I don't think 3 year olds are quite as sophisticated, but they definitely know a good line when they hear one, will parrot back any that strikes their fancy -- and are prepared to keep repeating it over and over as long as it amuses the grownups.
