The Obama Campaign's Ferocious Ground Game.....

.... On my voicemail when I got home today, two messages from the Obama campaign: One to remember to vote, and one asking if I can help knock on doors in the Detroit area this weekend. They've called just about every other day since early last week.

1. Oops! Sorry! I made about 100 phone calls tonight throughout Indiana.

The campaign's goal tonight was 400,000 calls tonight! We were calling all over the place!

on edit: there were about 8 of us sitting in my co-volunteer's living room making calls. We at least made 100 calls each = 800 in a few hours. I don't know how many others around Indiana were doing this today. We did this instead of canvassing. We had this program where all we did was dial up to this one number and the program did all the automatic dialing, skipped answering machines, and we recorded who early voted and who will/won't volunteer for GOTV. It was easier than dialing the numbers manually...but we didn't know who or where we were calling except that it was to voters in Indiana.
