Palin is the gift that keeps on giving!
ELIZABETH VARGAS: If it doesn't go your way on Tuesday ... 2012?

GOV SARAH PALIN: I'm just ... thinkin' that it's gonna go our way on Tuesday, November 4. I truly believe that the wisdom of ... of the people will be revealed on that day. As they enter that voting booth, they will understand the stark contrast between the two tickets. ...

VARGAS: But the point being that you haven't been so bruised by some of the double standard, the sexism on the campaign trail, to say, "I've had it. I'm going back to Alaska."

PALIN: Absolutely not. I think that, if I were to give up and wave a white flag of surrender against some of the political shots that we've taken, that ... that would ... bring this whole ... I'm not doin' this for naught.

Ok here's the really great part, the McCain camp heard about this from Cnn's Dana Bash and she said the adviser was "Speechless"

Gold digger, table for one?

started contending that people should take her seriously. 2012 is a much better time table with that hurdle to over come. I don't know that she will ever get over it. It's very difficult to take her so called policy statements seriously. Of course that's true of her running mate too.

I take her little winks and atcha's very seriously.

38. I know, Swamp Rat... What the hell?...
Joe the Slug surfaced after the shit storm, for his 15 minutes? What a creep. Good for us. Bad for McCain. I think he's a distraction and a grim reminder of failed Republican strategy that does nothing but hurt the McCain/Palin ticket. Whatever... This is the craziest election cycle I've ever been witness to. Opportunists everywhere.

Perfect graphic!

19. Palin may not be an intellectual..
But she is a shrewd politician and the fundies love her like no one else I can think of in politics.

Sarahcuda can blow that fundie dog whistle like a steam calliope. If the Repubs want to keep the fundie base, and they really have no choice, I think Sarahcuda is going to be a fixture in politics for the foreseeable future. The more we hate her the more the fundies will love her.

Yep. Give 'em enough rope, 'n' doggone it, they'll hang themselves, by golly.

It also strikes me that the choice of what Gov. Palin does in the 2012 campaigns may not be entirely up to her.

I shudder to think of a translator having to translate her. she makes absolutely no sense. How would this work when she is negotiating with unfriendly foreign leaders? Can she speak? We know she can read a speech, but can she just speak about anything, in a coherent sentence?

The fact that the Republicans are running with this tells you how out of touch they are. I guess they thought we wouldn't care or even bother to learn about Palin's policies or if she can talk to world leaders. They really thought they could sell us a made up narrative about a hockey mom and we'd all lap it up like the morons they think we are. Not this time, GOP. We bought your Bush and we learned that we need to examine the puppets you roll out with their phony narratives and branding and dangerous agendas to steal freedoms and money from regular American citizens. It's funny listening to them prattle on with accusations of socialism because they clearly demonstrate a lack of comprehension about socialism, but furthermore, who just nationalized the banks and indeed essentially socialized Wall Street? yeah, the GOP.

Of course, they bank on their base not researching anything...and I guess that's been proven to be a safe bet.

Lie, GOP, Lie.

edited to add: I copied this from a post I tried to make on the ABC site. Of course WE didn't buy Bush....I worked both Dem campaigns against the chimp.

26. CNN report was great
Although Wolf Blitzer can't pronounce "naught"...

I too saw the Dana Bash report about telling a senior level McCain advisor who was rendered speechless, as chimpsrsmarter (nice name) wrote...and then the McCainie person simply said, "huh".

Palin is out of control, and while I'm trying to focus on the next week and not the aftermath, I must say that the infighting in the McCain campaign will be pretty interesting reading! Honestly, whenever I see McCain with Palin in an interview (starting with the "let's try to correct this mess with Katie Couric" joint interview), I swear he looks like he's secretly seething and just detests her. In the Couric joint interview, she looked cowed (e.g. quick looks at McCain, unsure whether to speak up or what to say so as to not trigger his notorious temper). But now she knows he's a loser so she's in her usual backstabbing mode.

Good times.

36. GOOP Rookie Of The Year...
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 07:06 AM by KharmaTrain
What the hell...use baseball analogies here...

Bible Spice is the new kid called up from the minors (the GOOP farm system is a joke)...she's rushed up to the major to pitch. Now this babe's got a blazing fastball, but that's about it. When she hits the "bigs" she makes a big splash cause few can hit that fastball and the hometown fans just love her. The opposition sees how one-dimensional her game is and how easy she makes "rookie mistakes". The first time around the "league"...the convention...she was unhitable...but the second time around...the Debate, she got her head handed to her. She has no curve ball or change-up...but that doesn't mean she won't develop one.

I think the word "Grifter" works for Caribou Barbie more than anything else. Give her an inch and she'll take the Saks' credit card. But her con has won her a lot of wingnut hearts. She's played them like a violin and is definitely setting herself up for the future.

Remember, Gramps claims he's only going to serve one term...and if they were to win :scared: she would be the front-runner in 2012 anyway.
