'McCain spent some of the most influential years of his life at all-male, all-white school in 1950s'
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain said he spent some of the most influential years of his life at Episcopal High School, Sacramento television news station KCRA reported.

Founded in 1839, Episcopal High School was still an all-male, all-white school in the 1950s; it was attended by sons of upper-class southern families.

McCain was bounced around for most of his young life by his Navy family. In 1951, when he turned 15, McCain started his education at the private boarding school.

He wrote in his memoir that at first he felt out of place.

McCain joined the wrestling team, developed a reputation for being willing to fight and earned nicknames like "the punk" and "McNasty."

not trying to say much with this post __ it's just an interesting perspective on the man who has presided over and encouraged such a bigoted campaign. Who know how this experience influenced him . . .

2. well, in this case
. . . he's demonstrated a narrow view of Americans in his campaign which is a reflection of his relatively sheltered experience during what he describes as the most influential period of his life.

3. Sounds like a rather . . . elite upbringing
But I'm sure that doesn't make him elitist.

4. Could they have put up anyone whiter than McToast?
Even his close bigot competitors weren't as blonde.
