6. Martha is a big Democrat and there was even speculation that the Feds went so hard on her
because of that.

Welcome to DU handmade34!

13. Imagine a Bush prosecutor team acting in a partisan manner, Hmmm.
And then the FBI guy who testified against her leaves the FBI in disgrace for having overstated the science behind his ability to determine writ timing. And then, even though 500M$ of public money lies in the balance, they can't seem to get an appeal heard for YEARS now. In fact, she's still waiting.

Partisan prosecutors? Who'd think that could happen. Conspiracy theorists I say, conspiracy theorists!

There's something very wrong in this country.

Want to ask Don Siegleman?

8. Martha didn't play the bitch, she went to jail and did her time without whining. I love her.

When she went to jail and did her time without acting like a whiney little bitch, and she earned my respect when she did it.

9. Me too.
She used to piss me off -- I felt like she was raising the housekeeping bar to unmanageable levels! You know, like women don't have anything better to do than make seasonal table settings.

But she did her time and carried on. Tough lady!

Especially since she was scapegoated over inside trading while the real culprits carried on. Revenge is sweet.

10. If Martha Stewart's trangressions were worth 5 months in prison,
the most of Wall Street and their hirelings in the White House and Capitol Hill should be thrown in the slammer for life.

15. While Scooter (and Rove and Cheney, etc.) were allowed to walk,
she was made to do time. Alright, it wasn't Riker's Island (I heard her say that the thing she found most difficult about prison was the lack of fresh lemons), but it was still more than what truly treasonous bastards got away with.

"sucked it up" and did her jail time unlike MEN who did real damage such as stealing pensions, remain free to this day.

17. anyone who makes over $250K a year and who cries about taxes
doesn't know what real problems are..and...even if you live in a place with a high cost of living...that kind of income makes it very comfortable unless you are spending all your money on jimmy choos and $10K handbags...then you are just being foolish with your money.

Parade magazine sometimes does these issues with people's salaries...

Most folks in those articles aren't even close to that mark...and those are even folks in "professions" that have always been touted as high wage earning

18. Oh what could be done w/ $250K!
How anyone can cry like an infant about taxes while making that much money is beyond me.

My husband and I are finally in a comfortable (not rich, just comfortable) spot. We are desperately hoping we are able to stay there in this economy. We went through 8 years of scraping and saving and one tour in Iraq to get where we are.
