5. During his acceptance speech at the convention.
He almost had me crying. I had the throat lump and the mist. What an outstanding speech. If he wins this election I may very well cry.

6. The first time I heard him speak in 2004 and oddly enough, again today
Both brought me to hopeful tears of joy.

7. Yes, over and over
I have tried to record some of his speeches. The convention speech broke me up, and his speech today in Canton.

But just the "hope" of really having him be my president... It is hard to hope for, and I can't even talk to my own parents or sisters without getting choked up.

I don't even want to breathe. I think I'll be agoraphobic until next Tuesday.

9. My heart is now partially stone. But I have wept some.
It's because of beauty. Right now I'm feeling it as I think about it. Obama represents the very highest essence of humanity. I call it the "love thy enemy" approach.

So yes.

10. yes, when he spoke in Portland, Or. cried tears of hope
first time I ever cried during a political speech and I'm pushing 70 so have had plenty of opportunities. He moved me to tears about 5 minutes into his speech. 70,000+ attended that rally back in May of this year!!

31. I saw that speech in Ohio also and ...
it rocked me back in my chair. That man can give a good word. I was almost in tears. I could see the Passion in his eyes, they got big and full or fire, it almost looked like he was about to start talking some shit and call out the neocons for the traitors that they are.

26. No, but I do find his cadence interesting.
I am a long-time watcher of televangelists, believe it or not.

Marjoe Gortner, Dr. Gene Scott, Jimmy Swaggart, et al.

Obama's style reminds me of Marjoe Gortner, pure and simple.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, never fails to bring me to tears.

Tears of Rage.

Tom

BTW, H2S, I have been sailing on your posts, of late. You are reeling and rocking.

27. I'm not a weepy person, and I don't usually have faith in 'a person'
usually just ideas.

But this guy is the real deal. Never in my lifetime have I seen a guy who is the whole package like that.

Don't let us down Mr. President, I'm confident you won't.

34. not once . What does is seeing what has happened to this country
and people on the streets and those who lost their jobs or homes or lives . but never a political figure. Perhaps when I see joy on some of these common peoples faces then I will have tears in my eye's, tears of joy.

I cried while watching his acceptance speech at the convention, and at the 2 rallies I've attended. I even cry just talking about the importance of this election.

I'm planning on toting around giant packages of Puffs on election day!

41. Yes...Male...30...but it's not Him Talking...It's the moment we are in.
If you tear up, it's not just something he said, it's your mind processing the last eight years, and all those sick sick moments that we didnt think we would ever get out of it. Its also the fight we have ahead, and the possibility that we can do this by just ignoring our cynicism, being smarter, faster, and more positive.
