Dobson’s election strategy: Focus on the Family Fear

2 Timothy 1:7: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

James Dobson and the Christian Right activists at Focus on the Family seem to have forgotten that scriptural promise. Then again, there is a great deal of the Bible they seem to have forgotten, or chosen to blatantly ignore. Their real “focus” is on scare tactics to frighten conservative evangelicals away from any flirtation with voting for Barack Obama, who may as well be the devil incarnate masquerading beneath a veneer of seductive charisma.

They were suggesting that it is important for children to transfer the fear of their parents to the fear of god.

It's a losing strategy being allied with nutbags like him.

We are watching that strategy fail in real time.

This is the peak of their influence before the Republican Party either recants the haters and moves to the middle, or fractures fatally.

Either way, we win.

Obama is a Christian, but that doesn't matter to them. They instead choose to demonize him. I saw the Rev. Wright ad put out over the weekend. What I found particularly disturbing is the image used of Obama. I first saw that image about a week ago here: . I'd be interested to read what your impressions are of the website's homepage.
