What a joke-"GOP warns voters about one party rule"
"Democrats are increasingly confident that Sen. Barack Obama will cruise to victory Nov. 4 and that his election will be accompanied by the biggest congressional majorities their party has enjoyed in decades, perhaps even a filibuster-proof 60-seat presence in the Senate. They have begun to outline an agenda that would center on stimulating the economy in the short term and then move quickly to beginning a U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq and focusing on domestic priorities such as overhauling the health-care system.

At the same time, party leaders are mindful of the dangers associated with one party controlling all levers of government, particularly given the monumental financial and international problems the next president and a new Congress will inherit.

"The larger the majority, the more likelihood that people think they can go off on their own. But being in the minority for 12 years was probably pretty good for us. We are a party much more aware of the necessity of unity," House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (Md.) said.

3. They had "one party rule" for six years....
They bullied and took advantage of it any way they could. This is laughable.

5. The Democratic Party response is that the only way
to investigate the rogue regime of the past eight years is a Democratic sweep. Expose all 'classified' WH cover ups.

7. Come on now, you have to admit, they do OWN this argument!
"We held the House, the Senate, and the Presidency for six years; look how bad we fucked it all up!"

9. All kidding aside, of course you are right!
When we rule all the legislative, and the executive, and hopefully appoint judges of a more liberal mindset to the judiciary, it puts us in a position of enormous responsibility. I hate to quote a comic book, but really, as Stan Lee says, "With great power comes great responsibility." Truer words were never written, in or out of the pages of Marvel Comics. Democrats will have to be ever vigilent, intolerant of abuse or excess, and MUST not be complacent. I do, however, feel that Obama will keep us upright, on task, and will not allow us to become what the Republicans did.

11. It is up to us to hold them responsible...
and they need to understand that immediately. We need to give the Democrats the authority to fix this mess made by the Republicans and the only way we can do that is to give them a 60-vote majority. I would like to thank the McCain campaign for bringing this to the people's attention.

12. You're absolutely right-- one party rule hasn't worked too well
As I told my neighbor who's into RW talking points after she said just that to me at the mailroom this morning...

"You're absolutely right-- one party rule hasn't worked too well, so let's try the other party rule and see if things get better..."

13. When the Republickers had
control of everything they were salivating over the notion that they could parlay that into a PERMANENT Majority in both chambers and the White House. Funny how their rhetoric has changed.

14. The hypocrisy of the Rethuglicons never ceases to amaze me.
So many things don't bother them when it's their party that stands to gain.
