DL is good, but this is an embarrassment.

A dangerous group with your reading and your educations and your equal rights and your hope!"

10. I'm lovin' it. I hope it lasts.
I just phoned CNN and commented on how happy I was they're giving it a try.

Sorry to disagree with everyone else. I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

17. Once he settles down, this could be really good. I hope they give him
a chance. That would make 1 show I watch on CNN. :)

11. Colbert's first couple shows he was nervous as hell
I remember his opener and thought, "Oh hell, he better get smooth real fast." Not that DL looks nervous, quite the opposite.

13. "People have been imagining black presidents for decades
and usually that's done in movies ...."

James Earl Jones, Morgan Freeman, a wrestler in the 23rd century ... "the moral is, you elect a black president and this happens" (clip of earth being destroyed by an asteroid).

22. Let's not forget...
...Dennis Haysbert in '24' and Tommy 'Tiny' Lister in 'The 5th Element'. I'm looking forward to fiction becoming fact.

Personal note: I really liked President Camacho in 'Idiocracy'.

I hope the show does well. It always takes a bit of time for a new show to hit its stride.

19. Comedy is not the place for a news station. At least not a comedy show.

26. I agree that CNN is boring when they repeat repeat repeat.
They could if they wanted have additional segments with useful info. But they are probably not intelligent enough.

The Hugley News or whatever it is called would be better on Comedy Central. It is no different than the Chocolate News it has.

21. Agreed. Second half was much better.
However, this whole show is just damn weird being on CNN. Anyone else get that feeling?

I think the more guests he has on, diversified in their fields related to current topics, the better the show will do. I thought he did pretty well with the guests. The standup was pretty bad though.

27. Does it take a comedy show to give news you won't get on a "news" program?
So this is what it has come to.....taking news that Amy Goodman would report on Democracy Now and packaging it in a comedy skit in order for a so-called "news organization" to do its job.

PATHETIC.

28. Uneven at times
I watched and wasn't blown away by it. There were some funny parts but mostly things fell flat. I will reserve my final judgement until I watch at least 3 shows.
