1. Really enjoying the lower prices ... but just wait about 2 weeks,
they will start to mysteriously rise after the election.

4. Yea, I'm almost considering buying a dozen 50 gallon drums
... filling them up while we're at $2.35 in Central IN and stashing them in my basement.

(only partially kidding)

2. Wow!
Local here in St. Louis we are about $2.70ish. This is encouraging.

3. Most of them on the border
Probably competition with Mexican prices brought them down.

No such luck in El Paso. Juarez is bloody with street warfare, so gas is $2.80-2.90 most places here.

7. Over 1000 dead so far this year
That's 1000 that they know of. There were 48 killed in a single weekend a couple months ago. All vestiges of restraint have been chucked overboard, victims now include priests, politicians, families of politicians, shopkeepers, bystanders. And this is happening while the city is occupied by a large contingent of the Mexican Army. It's nuts.

Oddly, El Paso is as sleepy and sedate as ever. No spillover. It still statistically ranks within the top 3 safest of cities over a half million population.
