I don't know if it's the closeness of the election or fatigue or just me, but every little thing
seems to make me cry these days, if it's related to Obama.

The picture of him walking in his old neighborhood, thinking of his grandmother
is what did it just now.

I think I'm overwhelmed by the real possibility that change may actually be just around the corner,
and that this fine family whose decency is so obvious and whose accomplishments are myriad
may actually be living in the White House, come January.

Is anyone else turning into a crybaby, too?

Lordy, I wish the election were this coming Tuesday. I need for the uncertainty to be over.

3. Yes!
That super-cheesy Ron Howard ad made me cry. Not because I have any kind of nostalgic feelings for his teevee shows, but just because he made this ridiculous ad for OBAMA.

Just thinking of that beautiful family and those little girls in the White House makes me choke up.

4. I am.
I think it is because we are all making this journey together, and we are nearing the end of the hardest part. Getting a young black Democrat with a name like his in the White House. I don't think anyone would have believed it 10 or 5 or even 4 years ago.

We are walking together.

6. I don't cry,
but I am walking around with this deep sense of foreboding, that something is going to happen, and I don't know what.

Even if we win, I don't know what will happen. I honestly can't tell how damaged our country is and what kind of hatred will keep on rising out there.

I'm just scared.

the least we can do is match them!

38. Actually, the reason it was easy for me to answer is that I felt the same way in the beginning, just
filled with dread about what might happen (God forbid).

Then one day I looked at a picture of the 4 of them - Michelle and those 2 beautiful girls and Barack - and realized what a huge
sacrifice they're all making, every one of them. They are beyond brave.

And then I saw it in a different light.

So - thanks!

18. I know! I can't decide if I want to go to an election night party with other people who've worked
on this campaign - or savor every moment and watch it at home, alone.
Because if anyone talks and I miss even one word, I'm gonna have to kill them!

15. What's the cause of the sense of futility? Seems to me that nothing we've done
has been futile. In fact, for the first time in 8 years, it feels like everything we (and by that I mean
everyone who has contributed their time/money/efforts/emotions and invested in this election)
have done is bearing fruit.

It feels awesome.

12. I Was Listening To NPR, and Somehow Groucho Marx Came Up
and they talked about how he got a Lifetime Achievement Academy Award, and he said he only wished they'd done it sooner, when Harpo and Chico were still alive....and I started bawling. I miss my brothers and sister terribly.

We Americans were blessed with generations of comedians, gentle, creative, funny without being ugly, team players, vaudevillians, consummate professionals. The breed has not yet died out, but the ranks are so thin, I fear for the people. If we lose our funny men and women, we lose our sense of humor, and we all turn into Republicans, with no ability to discern the ridiculous and appreciate it.

13. I've already told the family that I will be crying most...
of the day or more.

I keep remembering the struggles honest, hardworking Americans of all persuasions have been through
and I just vacillate between being angry at what we've been through and crying in anticipation and relief
for our future.
But most of all I cry with joy for my grand-babies' future.

22. Yeah, and you know what? I think many people are feeling this way because, more than any other time
in history, so many thousands of "regular" people have actually had a hand in this election, leaving
their normal comfort zones to campaign or call or go door-to-door. It makes it so much more personal
than it ever was.

I am preparing to be filled with joy!!!!

33. Yes, and you know why?
For eight years we've been brutalized, starting with the major fucking we took in 2000. We've watched this smirky little bastard strut around like he owned the world, start ridiculous wars, throw people in Gitmo, violate our privacy rights and basically telling anyone who didn't vote for him to stick it. It's been an awful eight years, an ugly darkness and you didn't know where the next body blow would come from.

And then....to have this man, this decent honorable person, bring a candle into the darkness has been one of the most joyous events of my lifetime. Hell yeah I'm emotional. And to see the GOP pay and pay dearly for what they've done to our country is icing on the cake.

on edge, anxious, distracted and having trouble sleeping. I am moved by the footage I see of Obama and the hope that is just within our grasp.

Then I read that the DOJ has been asked to intervene in Ohio regarding newly registered voters. My daughter is one of those voters. Makes me furious and scared.

November 4th can't come soon enough.
