I've noticed Repugs new strategy of late: We can't let the Democrats have TOTAL control.
Let us win at least ONE of the three: Presidency, House, Senate. .... Pretty please.

2. Very important point, marmar
They don't like the shoe being on the other foot. My general impression of the KKKarl Rove, standard operating procedure, included dismantling and destroying the Democratic party, in favor a a One Party, system....their system. The Aristocracy, the rich the privileged, the permanent ruling class. Gut the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, and install, One Party Rule. If it's OK for them why don't they think it's a fair concept now? What continues to concern me are the numbers of GOP operatives that could have run for another term but opted out in favor of joining Lobby Firms. I would expect serious attempts at corruption of Democratic Law makers. Expect, that there will be old hands at this, roaming Washington with fists full of Corporate and Oil Company cash, ready to grease any willing palms. We need to stay honest, do the will of The People, and repair the Republican damage to our Government while we have a chance.

4. When they were in the minority ...

Since they have been in the minority for the past two years, they've felt VERY different about the "nuclear" option.

I will say this again. We need the 60 votes to enact electoral reform.

1) Tough laws against election fraud. In a democracy the right to vote is sacred and willfully denying a person the right to vote should care VERY stiff penalties to the point that you cannot bribe someone to do it. Add a conspiracy portion to haul everyone off to jail if they are involved.

2) More representatives in the house. It is within the power of the congress to increase the number of representatives. If we increased this number, they would all go to the more populated states. The voting power of persons in sparsely populated states is ridiculous.

Adding representatives to the house would help with minority representation, insulate congressman from the influence of campaign money (as they will need less), rebalanced the representation formula, give Democrats a serious edge in the house and also aid Democrats in presidential elections as the electoral formula is linked to the size of one's congressional delegation.

And BTW of course, we can force statistical sampling into the next census which will also help Democrats a great deal.

5. Dig Up The Usual Suspects...
Here's the Catch 22...if you scream about total control, aren't you then admitting Gramps will lose? I saw a report the other day saying that many Congressional and Senate candidates aren't just avoiding mentioning booooosh but Gramps name as well. Each candidate for him/herself and most are trying to pander to a shrinking constituency to save their sorry asses.

Remember, in '06 they rose the Pelosi-Reid boogiemen...and little good that did. While Congress got poor approval ratings, many of us Democrats were dissapointed not in what they did, but what they didn't do. The GOOP was just fed up with their inept losers. The problem wasn't Pelosi (even though you could fool the shit out of many DU'ers here on that issue) but their own corrupt leaders who supported boooosh and the destruction of this country.

With time and money running out, all that's left for many of these candidates who are seeing their fates sinking with the rest of their inept party, they're creating the political "Armageddon"...and one that the corporate media is sure to play up during the week ahead. Yes, they sure do fear a Democratic sweep and with good reason.

9. I about fell out of my chair when I first read that yesterday
I want President Obama and the Demo congress critters to have total and absolute control. For the most part the Democrats have always been on my side of the issues, always.

12. no such thing
Other than a North Korea type government there is no such thing as total and absolute control.Human nature will kick in and the ultra liberals will be fighting the liberals and the liberals will be fighting the moderates and the Republicans.Remember the Democrat controlled congress has about a 10% approval rating.Checks and balances will still be around.Obama better have some LBJ in him .he is going to find out very quickly he was elected president not king.HE will have more trouble with the democrats than the repugs.

13. I love their line of reasoning:
When WE had control of both branches, we really fucked up the country.

We can't let the other guys have a chance to do as shitty a job as WE did! Vote for Us!
