If what I can visualize happening in America this next Decade
actually happens then it was worth it. All of the misery throughout the world caused by the Bush* Cabal and Republican cohorts was worth it if it turns America around and allows it to become the country it once was again..It is possible that we can have a "real" America for another century before the slime oozes out once again..America has been a truly great country and will be one again but only after the Republican Cult is broken and sent off to the underworld never to be heard from again...

1. I want to believe that...
...but part of me is terrified that McCain will steal it.

Sorry to be a bucket of cold water, but that's how I feel.

Part of me is happy that the nightmare is over, and another part of me is afraid that
we'll have another stolen election on our hands.

2. It will never have been worth it. The best we can say is we will have overcome it.
If Gore had been allowed to take the office he won, this nation might already be where we want it to be. At least we'd still have the Twin Towers, and New Orleans and Galveston would be much further along the road to recovery. We'd still be listening to the Republicans whining about what to do with the budget surplus, and complaining that the economy was growing too quickly.

3. I hope.
But I'm worried.

I just have it in my mind that we'll get around 55-58 in the Senate, but not enough to completely thwart filibusters. So Republicans filibuster everything we try to push through, our problems continue since we aren't able to pass much-needed legislation to get our country out of this mess, and the Republicans blame everything on the Democrats, and the nation turns against us.
