In what states is the Sec of State also co-chair of the state McCain/Palin campaign?
Remember:

2000 Florida Katharine Harris

2004 Ohio Blackwell

Both times they were co-chair of their states Bush campaign

I know this is the case in Wisconsin

but how may electoral votes does WI have?

and they are way ahead in the polls too.

It always comes down to one state that is close enough to steal

and they own the Sec of State of that state in each case

Any others?

1. the great thing this year is it will not come down to 1 state
McCain has to run the table on something like 10 states where he is currently behind.

Obama needs to keep the Kerry won states + Iowa which is pretty much ours + 11 EV. He can get the 11 EV from either VA, MO, IN, NC, OH, FL, or some combination of CO + NV or CO + NM.

McCain is behind in so many states and they are all red states from 2004.

2. Terri Lynn Land-R Mich SoS
But I don't think they can steal the election in Michigan. Too many people are going to vote and we have optical scans, so that we can verify the count via hard copy if necessary. A very diverse population that has suffered the severe affects of the bush administration who will insist on change. Election protection will also be on the ground. I feel fairly certain that Michigan will have an honest election.

3. Wisconsin has 10 electoral votes
Our state, Washington is run by a republican SoS, but I don't think Obama is going to have a problem here. It's the Rossi Gregoire governors race that I am worried about and also US Congressional Burner Reichart race. Our SoS did purge 40,000 from the rolls though. If you will remember our Democratic governor won her race last time, after three recounts by 133 votes!!
